Cincinnati Pick Ups – 02.09.2013
It’s always great to head into a city with over 128,000 trading cards, getting ready to make it “rain cardboard” (yea, I made the up…it’s copyrighted and trademarked!)
It’s also nice to be able to meet people and head back home with more cards to donate to more kids; it’s a cycle that has been going strong now for well over a year and it never seems to let us down!
I would guess that we headed back to Kentucky with roughly 50,000-60,000 cards, which will be bagged and headed to our Miracle League donation in Pittsburgh.
Here is an example – the cards we get in the mail from all over the country, even Canada were given to kids in Cincinnati and cards from Cincinnati will be given to kids in Pittsburgh and cards from Pittsburgh will be given to kids in…well, who knows where! It’s the entire country working together to get trading cards to kids who need them and want them!
Cincinnati did not let us down!
The first donation we got was from our buddy Steve (@Cincyboy1976), Steve gave us several Joey Votto posters, which kids love! Steve also helps us out by spreading the cards we brought through Cincinnati…which is just as important as actual card donations! He also helps promote us on Twitter!
The next donation we picked up was from Jason Ebbing (@jebbing9) and he brought a huge amount of cards!

Now, this was all yesterday so I haven’t really had a lot of time but I will be posting pictures of cards we find as we go through them so be watching for that!!!
After we meet up with Jason, we headed to meet Hank Reed (@queencitycards). Hank is opening up Queen City Cards at 9 W Sharon Rd, Glendale, OH probably in late February or March so be watching for it! It’s going to be a drop off spot for Commons 4 Kids and the greatest card shop the Queen City has ever seen!
We haven’t gone through Hank’s donation yet either, however, he had some bigger cards set a side for us!
The donations from Steve, Jason and Hank were amazing and will help us for months down the road; we huge thanks to them and welcome to the C4K Family!!!
