You Asked For It!

We always have people who really love what we are doing but aren’t really into trading cards and don’t really have anything to donate to us and since we are NOT an “official” non-profit charity, I try not to accept cash donations because of the legal issues.

That has changed.

There is a site out there called “Chip In” and I’ve decided to set it up so that people who want to help us can.

PLEASE REMEMBER THIS – WE ARE NOT AN OFFICIAL NON-PROFIT CHARITY; YOU CAN NOT CLAIM ANY DONATION TO US ON YOUR TAXES.

I can honestly tell you that I wasn’t ready for the huge financial cost of a program like this would lead too; remember, I started out just donating my collection and now we’ve grown into a project that has accepted donations from 20 different states and donated cards to kids in 5 different states.

Here are some of the costs – baggies, business cards, banners and mostly GAS.

We have driven as far as St. Louis, Cincinnati and soon to Chattanooga.

For example – we are going to Chattanooga to pick up a donation and dropping off donations to 4 different charities. It’s a pretty long trip so we are staying one night. This wasn’t a planned trip and it’s not a vacation that we were already going on. We could pass up going but then we would miss getting about 125,000 trading cards into the hands of kids in that area. The gas down there will be about $100, a hotel room will be about $80-$100 plus we’ll need food.

Since we have never accepted cash donations, our budget is $0.00 to cover this, so it will come directly out of our pocket. Now don’t get me wrong, we may go to a site or two after we drop off the donations and we do love running this project, however, that doesn’t cut any of the financial stuff.

I don’t want this to sound like I’m asking for money because I’m not; I only created this because there have been several people that have wanted to donate money; some have even put cash in envelopes.

With that said, any money “chipped in” will go directly to buying cards to donate, baggies to secure them or gas to get to a donation location.

We would love to hit other states around Kentucky like Virginia, South and North Carolina, Georgia, Indiana, etc.

I WILL STRESS ONE LAST TIME THAT YOUR MONEY IS NOT GOING TO AN OFFICIAL NON-PROFIT CHARITY.

We are a non-profit charity; actually we are more of a profit loss charity but I want to make it clear that you are simply chipping in a few bucks to help use get trading cards into the hands of kids…nothing else.

If you don’t feel comfortable chipping in but still want to help; head to your local Wal-Mart and get us some baggies or buy some packs of cards and send them our way.

Thanks to ALL of the amazing people that have helped us donate close to 700,000 trading cards already! (that number will jump to over 800,000 on October 19th!)

Just click on CHIP IN and give us all your money :)
