And Now…
…for something completely different!
I grew up in what most people would call the “projects”; some people call it “the hood” or even “the ghetto” but basically, it’s just low income housing for families with low income.
On September 8th, 2012 we are going to be setting up a table at a local yard sale in a low income community and we’ll be handing out FREE cards to kids within the community and any kids that come with their parents to the yard sale.
Since the beginning, we have had very few interactions with the kids; we usually take the cards to charities and give them to a contact person and they distribute the cards how they wish.
This is something a little bit different and, if it works out pretty well, I would like to actually contact the house authority folks and go into these communities and hand out cards door to door!
We have honestly hit about every single charity in Central Kentucky and several sounding states; so any other ideas to get the cards into the hands of kids is always appreciated.

Have you thought about contacting the Soldier and Family Assistance Centers at local military installations? This would be a great way to get cards into the hands of children of deployed military. I’m sure that they would be willing to assist with setting up a day for you to hand out cards to the children.
