We were headed up to Louisville, KY today to drop off a couple donations and my friend from high school, Alex, over at Through the Decades Cards and Gaming there in Lville has been saving us up some cards so we headed over to his new shop and picked everything up.
However, before we headed over there, we had to pick up another donation. Jerry Douthitt emailed me last night to let me know he had about 10,000 cards ready for us to pick up, this is Mr. Douthitt’s SECOND donation and it was perfect timing since we were heading to Lville anyway.
We dropped off a van full of cards, then headed over to Mr. Douthitt’s house and picked up his donation and then made our final stop at the card shop.
I was expecting a few shoe boxes from Alex but man was I WRONG!
He had a ton of stuff ready for us and I haven’t had time to go through it yet but I know there are unopened packs and thousands AND THOUSANDS of cards!!
Alex also took some of our business cards and he’s talking with some other folks that may be able to help us with our main mission – getting cards into the hands of kids!
I want to give a HUGE thank you to Mr. Doutthitt, Alex and all the amazing customers over at Through the Decades for being the true back bone of this project!
If you are in Lousiville, KY, near by or just heading to KY for a vacation, you HAVE to stop in at Through the Decades and tell Alex hi for us! The more you guys buy, the longer he can stay in business and the more help he can provide to us….so everyone wins!!!
Alex’s sign has changed; it’s now big red letters and really hard to miss!
